Origin :

All animals sold at Fabrica Curiosa are classified as least concerned by the World Conservation Union and are not CITES 1 and 2 species.

The insects used come from approved suppliers, from my own breeding or from European breeders and collectors.

Suppliers' insects come from breeding programs located around the world.

70% of these farmed insects are released into the wild to maintain populations.
30% is used for study and entomology purposes.
In this 30% there is a part which arrives at the suppliers.

The insects come from several countries such as Peru, Madagascar, Colombia, South Africa, Asia.
The salary of the local populations employed on these farms is paid by the State which recovers the taxes on the purchase paid by the companies and customers of this activity.

Anthrenes

⚠️ Beetles are scavengers, and they want your butterflies, beetles and everything in between.

➡️ These pests are found in almost all homes where animal matter is present, in carpets, mattresses, wardrobes or around baseboards where dust and hair often accumulate. It is the larva that causes the most damage. The adult beetle is harmless.

➡️ Live larvae have a brownish color, are very hairy and measure up to 10 mm long. The larvae are lucifuge and hide quickly. This makes them difficult to detect.

If you find a pile of empty molt skins this is a sign of their presence. (photo) (photo )

➡️ Please note that when you buy a creation, whether at Fabrica Curiosa or elsewhere, you are buying a product that is natural, and unfortunately there is always a risk that these necrophages, called dermestids, beetles and CO will eat your decoration, and they will cause carnage if you don't take action in time.

Recently, all the frames sold at Fabrica Curiosa are waterproof, so the risk of carpet beetles is minimal.

Here are solutions to prevent this damage or to stop the harm in progress:

Prevent :

▪️Look at your creations once a month, if you see holes in the wings or dust heading to the freezer.

▪️You can also put behind the frame, from time to time a little essential oil of thymol, lavender etc., this aims to mask the smell of your insects

▪️You can also use pyrethrum-based insecticide for crawling

⚠️ Stop the ongoing evil:

Put your creation in a plastic bag and put it in the freezer at -20 for 3 days. Then bring it to room temperature to prevent fogging.

You can also find out a little more in depth on Google by typing in anthrene or dermestes.

Don't be afraid, it seems serious but if you look from time to time, there is no reason why your insects are going to dust, plus as said above, the frames are now airtight.
